Trip to Ooty

- Bus: Sleeper bus. Bangalore to Ooty by KPN non A/C. Ooty to Bangalore by Greenline travels. Greenline A/C bus was much better than KPN non A/C.

- Stay: Stayed at Green Apple Residence. Booked online. Room was small, but clean. The owner was friendly.

- Food: Aryaas that was walkable from the lodge was good. But, it would have been better if the lodge itself had a veg restaurant.

- Trip to Coonoor: Travelled to Coonoor by government bus. Took about 45 mins. From Coonoor to Ooty by toy train. The experience was just OK, nothing great - except for the screams while passing through the tunnels.

- Ooty sightseeing: Took a cab for full day sightseeing (10AM to 5:30PM) -- costed Rs.1200/- (all inclusive)

     Places visited:
  • Botanical garden - OK. Shopping area outside is good.
  • Tea Factory & Museum - Long queue, but was not bad. Got to see the tea making process.
  • Doddabetta Peak - Too much traffic. Took about 1.5 hrs to go. Just for the view.
  • Ooty Lake - Very good. Boating, different varieties of food in the food court, kids games etc.
  • Thread garden - Literally a garden created with threads! OK, lot of hard work, but, nothing spectacular to watch.
