Trip to Mysore

Mar 2022

Commute:

- Went in Nexon. Took about 3.5 hrs including 30min break.

Stay:

- Stayed at Aishwarya Le Royal (opp. to Philomena Church)

- Booked through Goibebo for Rs.2000/- per night

- The room was too noisy due to constant traffic outside

- There was no good restaurant nearby, but, all attractions were closeby

- Overall, NOT worth staying in that place again

Places of Visit:

- Ranganathittu bird sanctuary

- Chamundi Hills

- GRS Snowcity & UpDown Museum

- Lokarangan Aquatic World

- Karangi lake park (closed at 5:30 PM)

- Forum Mall (too crowded on Sunday evening)

2016

Stay

• Stayed in 'The Dawn' Hotel
• Took an A/C room. It was pretty good and comfortable. It was about 2K per day.
• The charges included complimentary breakfast, which was decent.
• The restaurant is Veg/Non-Veg. So, we had to go to Kamat that was 2 kms from this hotel.
• There was a Super market opposite to the hotel, which was a good add-on.

Commute

• Went in car, which proved to be very useful for all the trips inside Mysore
• Used GPS & Data connection for locating all the places.
• Had breakfast at A2B in Bidadi (before Innovative film city)

Places Visited

• Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary (15 kms before entering Mysore)
• Mysore Zoo (could have used the battery operated vehicle)
• Sand Museum
• Mall of Mysore
• Karanji Lake (very good - boating, butterflies, pheasants, kids park etc.)
• Brindavan Gardens (aquarium at the entry was good, but, Musical Fountain was not good)
