Started at night 10 pm and reached Dharmastala by 6 am (8 hrs journey). Sleeper coach bus fare was 340 rs. The road condition in the Shiridi Ghat section was very BAD.
A decent room in dharmastala costs about Rs.150 per night.
Dharmastala to Kukke - 66 kms, takes 1:30 hrs. Lots of buses available. Fare is 34 rs. Road condition is really really PATHETIC.
UPDATE on 10-DEC-07:
- The road condition from Dharmastala to Kukke has improved a little.
- There is a bus from Kukke to Bangalore that takes about 8:30 hrs. But, the road condition for the first 3:30 hrs is POOR beyond words. They said it will improve in 3 months time.
- Took room in 'Aashraya' hotel in Kukke - very ordinary rooms for Rs.590/night. Nothing 'deluxe' about it!
